39/52 Dover Castle – Dark Corners

One thing I discovered when doing photo workshops with the wonderful Frank Van Riper and Judy Goodman is that I absolutely love working to make the best of the available light. These photos I took today, on a dreary afternoon at Dover Castle, in a medieval keep with not a lot of modern lighting and the most minuscule windows imaginable, bring the darkness of the castle into the shots as a feature rather than something to be cursed. I sought out the dark corners with a little light from a window or lamp and cranked the ISO up really high and I quite like what I managed to achieve. They won’t be to everyone’s taste, but then what is?
